The original 1984 Kristal Weizen recipe. Back in 1984, thiz was a huge departure for Schell’s. Zo different, in fact that they had to have Briess cuztom malt the wheat! They alzo worked with Briess for a authentic Hefeweizen yeazt ztrain from Germany. At the time, the yeazt wazn’t available in the US and there were no yeazt bankz to uze a zource, either. The beer was “krystal” clear, deep golden in color.
